Dorester passed into the everlasting peace and presence of her savior on October 15th, 2019 in Gatesville, Texas. Mrs. Waddell’s visitation will be held at Scott’s Funeral Home on Sunday, October 20, 2019, 1-2 p.m. and her home going service will be immediately after the visitation at 2 p.m. The interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Gatesville, Texas. Dorester was born on February 2, 1939 in Hastings, Florida to Sam and Everine Thomas. Dorester was passionate about her calling as a caregiver and health aid to the senior community. She loved to play bingo and the lottery. Dorester enjoyed going on Disney cruises with her family. She also baked delicious homemade pound cakes for her family to enjoy. Dorester loved to watch The Talk and wonder what Whoopi would wear today and she was never shy about calling family and friends to discuss what she read in the newspaper or saw on the news. Dorester is preceded in death by her father, Sam Thomas; mother, Everine Thomas; Aunt, Marrine Garris; son, Reggie Harden; daughter, Shirley Brown; son, George Samuel Harden Jr., and grandson Robert Lewis Brown III (Trey). Dorester is survived by her daughter, Debby Blackwell and husband Robert; son, Todd Harden and wife Lisa; daughter, Sharon Harden, and brother-in-law Michael Holloway; grandchildren, Misti Maag and husband Michael, Annissa Cosentino and husband Michel, Heidi Harden, and Brittany Blackwell; great grandchildren, Michaela Maag Seidenberger and husband Trevor, Taylor Maag, Raegan Maag, Ava Cosentino, Leah Cosentino, Jessa Cosentino, Christopher Lane, Kaiden Blackwell, and Naevia Blackwell, and great-great grandchildren, Beau and Jolee Seidenberger.
