Dorothy Tatum, age 89, of Gatesville, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019 preparing Thanksgiving lunch for her family.  Services are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenbriar Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service.    Dorothy was born October 21, 1930 in Coryell County, Texas to the late R.H. (Preacher) and Ruby Marshall Burt.  She attended school in Gatesville, where she played basketball and graduated in 1948.  She married Wade Love Tatum on June 11, 1949 in Corpus Christi, Texas.  She was an active member of Live Oak Baptist Church where she loved serving, especially in the youth department.  She also enjoyed learning and fellowshipping with the ladies’ Sunday School Class.  She loved her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.  Her passion in life was praying for all to know the love of Jesus.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, one sister and a grandson Zachary Wade Braziel. Dorothy is survived by daughters, Cherry Braziel and husband, Gene, and Diane Crosby and husband, Danny; grandchildren, Brittany Currie and husband, Kyle, Cortnie Hatton and husband, Todd, Andrew Wade Crosby and wife, Allye, and Dani Beth Crosby; and great-grandchildren, Clayton Currie, Kylie Currie, Cal Hatton, Taylee Hatton, Ruby Love Crosby, Lucy Crosby, Silas Crosby and Evie Crosby; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Live Oak Baptist Church Youth Camp Scholarship Fund, 113 FM 107, Gatesville, TX 76528.
