Dwaine Lee

Dwaine Lee passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the age of 79, surrounded by his family.

Robert Dwaine Lee was born February 28, 1943 in Coryell County to the late Robert (Bob) and Vennie Taylor Lee. He attended school in Gatesville, where he played football and was a member of the Gatesville High School Class of 1961. In 1964, he married Karen Parks and they made their home in Gatesville, where Dwaine founded his self-employed contracting business. Dwaine was an avid horse racing fan and loved to play poker with his friends. His greatest passion was playing football and he enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, University of Texas and Texas Tech football. You could always find him at the local coffee shops staying in touch with local news. He was a member of the Fort Gates Water Board for more than 20 years. He was well-respected in his community for his hard work, honesty, and integrity. He was loved and adored by his family and will be  missed.

Dwaine is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Lisa Carol Lee and Charlotte Ann Lee.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Karen Lee; children, John Robert Lee and wife, Kathy, Honee Meyer and husband, Phillip, Lacee Hernandez and husband, Oscar; grandchildren, Megan Mohler Richardson, Cody Mohler, Delaney Katherine Lee, Michael Ryan Lee, Olivia Summers, Vincent Lee Hernandez, Quentin Robert Hernandez and several great-grandchildren.
