Edith Agnes Houston

Edith A. Houston, age 83, of Gatesville, passed away on April 23, 2025. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 3rd at Live Oak Batist Church., in Gatesville with Pastor Matthew Hamilton presiding.

Edith was born on February 28th, 1942, in southern Bavaria, Germany to the late Franz Winter and Hildegard (Weisser) Winter. Edith was raised in Erlangen Germany where she attended school. Edith married Charles E. Houston on November 10th, 1961, and they raised a small family. Edith loved flowers and loved gardening. Edith was very close to her three children and had a special love for her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles E. Houston; daughter, Viola H. Thompson, and sister, Gretel Wegner.

She is survived by her children, Charles Houston (Charlie) and wife, Carolyn, and Jacqueline Rahn (Jackie) and husband, Greg; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Desiree, Chrissy, Greg Jr., Christopher, Travis, Nicolas, Jacob, and Alexander; and numerous great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
