Frank Brooks

Frank Brooks, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Turnersville Cemetery.

Frank was born on October 1, 1942 in Beeville, Texas.  He was the son of the late Charley and Catherine Perkins Brooks.  He grew up in Rockport and resided there most of his life, moving to Gatesville in 2016.  He married Betty Catherine Choate in 1976.  She preceded him in death on October 17, 2016.  He coached girls softball earlier in his life and was a tug boat captain in Ingleside for 35 years. 

He was also preceded him in death by a son, Charles Scott Choate in 2017.

He is survived by ten children, Frank Charles Brooks, Herbie Allen Brooks, Dianne Brooks, Lydia Brooks-Summers, Janet Neyland, Steve Choate, Paul Choate, Sharon Tye, David Choate, Cindy Laws; sister, Dora Leaird; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
