Gary Belcher

Gary Wayne Belcher, age 75 of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023. 

Gary was born on January 28, 1948, to the late William and Margaret Weaver Belcher in Galveston, Texas.  He grew up and attended school in La Marque, graduating from La Marque High School in 1966.  He went to work for the Crown Cork and Seal Company, located in Longview, Texas, and later retired after 20-plus years of service.  Gary spent the next few years working for different organizations, which included a golf pro shop, and an adult care facility, where he helped with transportation and oversaw daily activities.  Gary’s favorite hobbies were playing golf and bowling with friends.  He was also an avid race car fan.  Gary was fond of people and never met a stranger.  Anyone that knew him will tell you that he was a man of many stories.       

He is survived by his grandchildren, Mackenzie Belcher and husband, Raymond Asbury, Layne Hall, and Ramsey Belcher; great-grandchildren, Jaxen, Aydon, Margaret, and Lucca; and many cousins and friends.
