Gary Michael Burrow Sr.

Gary Burrow Sr., age 77 of Gatesville, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025.

Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on January 25, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Bullard, located at 1428 S. Houston Street, Bullard, Texas 75757.

Gary Michael Burrow Sr. was born November 13, 1947 to the late William and Mable Simons Burrow in Kemp, Texas. He grew up and attended school in Kemp, graduating from Kemp High School in 1968. After graduation, he worked for Ceico Construction, building various projects including Darnell Hospital in Killeen, Texas. He married Connie Ruth Reed on September 5, 1969 and together, they made their home in Belton. In 1986, Gary went to work as a Jailer for the Bell County Sheriff’s Department. He and Connie later move to Edgewood, Texas, where he worked as a Jailer for the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Department. Gary retired in 2011, and he and Connie returned to their home in Belton. Gary enjoyed fishing, vintage cars, and John Wayne Movies. 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elzada O’Brien, Juanita Fay Ryan; and brothers, Julius Doyle, Charles Allen, Nathan Boyd, James Douglas, and Billy Joe.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Connie Burrow, and son Gary Burrow Jr. and wife, Cheryl.
