Gene Arnold

Gene Arnold, age 80, of Gatesville, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

Gene’s life will be celebrated during a visitation in the Family Life Center at the First Methodist Church in Gatesville from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2022. All are welcome to attend this casual gathering.

Gene was born June 8, 1942 in Gatesville, to the late R.M. (Bob) and Birdie Tippit Arnold. He was a lifetime resident of Gatesville and attended Gatesville High School, Class of 1960. Gene was a jack of all trades professionally. His passions throughout his life included golfing, deer hunting, and drinking coffee with friends. He loved his pets, especially riding his mules at Parrie Haynes Equestrian Center, even at the age of 80.  He had a gentle and kind soul who made a lasting impression on most everyone he crossed paths with.  He was a devoted member of the Johnny Watkins Sunday School Class in Gatesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Bradley Arnold.

Gene is survived by his wife, Suzie Dyer Arnold; daughters, Gena Kerins and husband, Doug, Dawn Holden Pratt and husband, David; brother, Bobby Arnold and wife, Carol; grandchildren, Douglas Kerins, Mary Kate Kerins and husband, Brahim Farah, Robert Kerins, Landon Holden and partner, Cameron Lyons, Lane Holden, Madilyn Holden, Latham Loecken and Jace Pratt.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Johnny Watkins Sunday School Class, c/o Jerry Giebler, 7915 East U.S. Hwy. 84, Gatesville, TX 76528.
