Gene Ford

Gene Ford, age 80, of Hamilton passed away quietly in Hamilton at Focused Care Nursing Home. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Pearl Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville.

Gene was born on January 21, 1939 to the late W.C. and Alma Ketchum Ford in Pidcoke, Texas. During high school he worked on farm and graduated from Evant High School in 1958. He married Jackie Reynolds on May 22, 1958 in Meridian, TX. They settled in Hamilton on the L.L. Pruden Farm in 1973. He retired from Bert Schrank LP Gas Company after 26 years. One of his favorite hobbies was coon hunting with his sons and his friends and watching westerns on T.V.

Gene is preceded in death by wife, Jackie Ford and numerous brothers and sisters.

Gene is survived by his five children, Robyn Tyson of Bedford, Larry Ford and wife, Audrey of Arlington, Scott Ford and wife, Rhonda of Hamilton, Daniel Ford and fiancée, Audavee Fonseca of Hamilton, Diana Shell of Fort Worth; sister, Lucille Ford of Hamilton; 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Focused Care and Mission Hospice for their love and support during his illness.
