Geneva Henderson

Geneva Henderson, age 92 of Gatesville, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2024 with her husband C.B. by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Chaplain Manuel Henriquez officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery.  

Geneva Louise Henderson was born on August 29, 1931 to the late Sam and Vera Freeman McLeroy in New Baden, Texas. She lived in Midland, Texas while raising her two boys and in 1972 met and married C.B. Henderson. They just celebrated their 49th Anniversary on July 25th of this year. During those 49 years, they were avid RVers, traveling to most states within the United States as well as going on cruises, which she loved. She also enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Ruidoso, New Mexico. In 2000, they built their forever home in Gatesville, where they enjoyed Black Angus cattle and lots of pecan trees. She loved to sit and watch her cows and the deer roaming around their peaceful place.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cynthia Ann Duncan; and sister, Gerri Kennedy. 

Geneva is survived by her husband, C.B. Henderson; two sons, Michael Duncan and wife Rita, and Joe Bob Duncan Jr and wife Judy; four stepdaughters, Delores Jen Bolin, Karen Sue Maxell, Marilyn Kay Ainsworth, and Pamela Tibbitts; two sisters, Barbara Herndon and Virginia Skeen; as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Geneva's family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to Stefenie at Companion Senior Care and to the staff at both Gentiva Hospice and Hillside Medical Lodge for the care, comfort, and support that was provided during her stay.
