Grace Faynell Clay

Grace Faynell Clay, age 94 of Gatesville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 4, 2020 in Gatesville. The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date. There will be a come and go visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Faynell was born on August 5, 1926 in Turnersville to the late Mr. and Mrs Mace Fullwood. She grew up and attended school in Turnersville. She married her high school sweetheart E.L. Clay on August 12, 1946. Faynell was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church. She worked as a bookkeeper and receptionist for Gatesville and Harker Heights Independent School Districts. Faynell loved to crochet and was quite talented with crafts and making something out of nothing. She was a great cook and even owned a restaurant with E.L. in Chico, TX for a short time.

She was preceded in death by husband, E.L. Clay; daughters, Glenda Bove and Donna Clay.

Faynell is survived by three nephews; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
