Jacqueline “Jackie” Kay Thomas

Jacqueline “Jackie” Thomas, age 75, of Gatesville, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018.  Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 1, 2018 at Hemmeline Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Scott’s Funeral Home.Jackie was born on December 21, 1942 in Gatesville, TX to the late Billy and Doris White Thomas.  She grew up on a dairy farm which created a lifelong love of Holstein cows. Jackie attended school in Gatesville, and graduated with the class of 1961.  She spent 30 plus years working for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice before retirement.  Jackie loved watching football.  She loved attending all of her children’s sporting events growing up.  Jackie enjoyed being busy, either at work or tending to her animals at home.  Most of all, Jackie loved her family, and spending time with them.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cindy Thomas; brother, Ricky Thomas; and grandson, Colt Schiff.Jackie is survived by her daughter, Myra Tubbs and husband, Bobby; sons, Kevin Potter and wife, Jeanette, Kyle Potter and wife, Deda, and Justin Potter; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shawn Thomas and Robbie Lam and husband, Gene; brother, Jody Thomas and wife, Robin; and numerous nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers the family request a donation be made to the Hemmeline Cemetery Association, 1050 FM 1783, Gatesville, TX 76528.
