James (J.W.) Wade Gray

James (J. W.) Wade Gray, age 74, of Clifton, Texas, passed away April 14, 2021 at his home.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville.

James was born May 16, 1946 in Chatham County in North Carolina.  He was the son of Isaac, Sr. and Evie L. Gray.  After graduating from high school, James joined the U. S. Army and was stationed at Fort Hood where he met his wife, Nancy.  They were married for 52 years.  James later joined the Texas State Guard.  He retired as Post Master with the U. S. Postal Service.

James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nancy; brothers, Burley (Elsie), and Charlie (Peggy); sister, Polly; and brother-in-law, Benjamin Ritter.

James was survived by sons, Bryan (Laura) and Brad (Tiffany); sisters, Doris Brown and Bonnie Ritter; brother, Isaac (Ike) and wife, Jane; grandchildren, Camden, Emily and Noah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
