James Reid

James Reid, age 65, of Gatesville, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018. James was born August 26, 1952 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Clarence Elmo and Dorothy Jeanette Bailey Reid.  He graduated from Diamond Hill Jarvis High School.  After high school, he joined the US Navy, serving for seven years before being honorably discharged.  He worked for General Dynamics, which became Lockheed Martin, as an electrical engineer in Research and Development for almost 20 years.  He was medically retired in 1998, when he became a “tinkerer.”  He loved tinkering with anything, especially computers.  He married Tina Heitz and they adopted two girls.  He enjoyed becoming a “Dad” for the second time, loved his family and spending time together. He was preceded in death by his parents.James is survived by his wife, Tina Reid; daughters, Jennifer Reid and husband, Denny, Amanda Perez and husband, Stephen, Leia Reid, and Charolett Reid; son, Brian Reid; and grandchildren, Brianna and Natalie Reid, Logan and Jackson Perez.Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 3919 E.
