James Willie Register, age 42, of the King Community, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at King Baptist Church with burial following at the King Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service.Willie was born on January 7, 1976 in Hamilton to Linda Elaine Register. He attended school in Gatesville and graduated from Evant High School in 1995. In 1996, he reunited with his elementary school crush, Bridget Shoaf, and they later married on July 17, 1999 at King Baptist Church. Willie graduated from the Oklahoma Horseshoeing School and worked as a farrier off and on. During his life, Willie worked primarily as a machinist and millwright. These jobs took him all over the world and he loved sharing stories of his adventures with those around him. On April 15, 2008, Willie and Bridget welcomed a son, Griffin James Willie Register, to their family. Griffin, or Little Willie as his Daddy referred to him, was Willie’s pride and joy. Willie was preceded in death by the man who he looked to as his father figure, his uncle, Bob Batte. Willie is survived by his wife of 18 years, Bridget Register; son, Griffin; mother, Linda Register and step-father, Bob Keeter; sister, Verna Black and husband, Eldon; brother, Robert (Bubba) Register, Jr.; parents-in-law, Ray and Tammi Shoaf; brother-in-law, Dustin Shoaf and wife, Liz; niece, Elliot; and nephews, Liam and Jeremy.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a scholarship fund that has been established at Extraco Bank in Griffin Register’s name.
