Janell Roberts Marion

Janell Roberts Marion, age 80, of Grapevine, formerly of Gatesville, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018.  Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Minister Jim Hall officiating.  Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.Janell was born on April 11, 1938 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Ross Roberts and Thelma Culp Roberts.  She graduated high school in Gatesville, Texas. She married Gene Marion in 1970 and they were inseparable for the next 48 years.  She and her husband, Gene, owned the Kountry Kitchen in Gatesville until 1979, and then spent 38 years in the antique business, often traveling to their favorite destination of France.  Jan, as she preferred to be called, was always the life of the party, so to speak, with a warm heart and endearing personality.  She brought so much laughter and fun to her family and friends and was a deeply loving and was a loved wife, mother, “granny”, aunt, and sister.  Her favorite past times were cooking, gardening, shopping for antiques, spending time with her “honey, Gene” and her grandkids, whom were her pride and joy.She was preceded in death by her parents; Ross and Thelma Roberts, and her son, Brandon Marion.Janell is survived by her husband, Gene Marion; daughter, Kimberly Croce and husband, Joe; granddaughter, Blair Croce; grandson, Cole Croce; sisters, Glenda Murray and Mary Lou Reed; nieces and nephews, Grayson Murray, Cameron Hardman, Craig Murray, Heather Mueller, Laketha Bookman, Brian Reed, and Sara Arthur; and great-nieces and nephews, all dearly cherished and adored.Memorials may be made to Center for Dementia Research, Nathan Kline Institute, 140 Old Orangeburg Road, Orangeburg, NY 10962, ATTN: Ralph Nixon, M.D., Ph.D.
