Janice Dye

Janice Dye, age 82 of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Waco.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. For those unable to attend, Mrs. Dye’s services will be livestreamed at the link below her obituary at www.scottsfh.com.  Private interment will be at Restland Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27^th at the funeral home.

Janice Marie Dye was born on February 26, 1940 in Chillicothe, Missouri to the late Clyde and Pauline Gash Cranmer.  She married Don Dye in 1966 and they resided in Waco, until moving to Gatesville in 1998.  She worked for Waco I.S.D. as a clerk for twenty years, until her retirement.  She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a firm Christian who loved to tell stories from the Bible to all her family members. She was a prime example of how to build a firm foundation with the Lord and demonstrate family values.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Dye in 2018; son, John A. Boone; brother, Thomas M. Cranmer; and a sister, Shirley Ashlock.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Williams and husband, Clayton; son, Scott Boone; brother, Jerry L. Cranmer and wife, Ruby; sister, Donna K. Baker and husband, Mark Gratton; grandchildren, Monica Neang and husband, Sam, Stephen Sowders, Jr., Whitney Sowders; and a great grandson, Koa Neang.
