Jed Norman Rueter

Jed Norman Rueter, age 82, of Gatesville, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 in Gatesville.  Services are scheduled for 12 Noon Monday, December 17, 2018 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be at Restland Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Jed Norman Rueter was born in Coryell County, October 15, 1936, to the late Edwin Rueter and Iris Britain Rueter. A fourth generation Texan, he graduated from Gatesville High School's class of 1955, where he excelled on the football, baseball, track and field and basketball teams. He went on to attend Wharton Junior College on a scholarship, and later worked for many years as plant manager for Halliburton in Odessa. After retiring, Jed started his own business and eventually returned to ranching near Gatesville, where he continued to raise cattle until a few years ago. He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Reeter-Brown and husband Jay Brown; son, Keith Rueter; granddaughter, Mia Winter and husband Matthew; brothers, Joe Bob Rueter and wife Francis and Mark Rueter and wife Deborah; sister, Nell Addkison and husband Tom; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
