Jeff “Bull” Ayres

Jeff “Bull” Ayres, age 47 of Gatesville, passed away on the morning of October 31, 2020 surrounded by his family. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 from noon till 4:00 p.m. at 723 Old Pidcoke Rd. Gatesville, TX 76528, the home of Troy and Belinda Chasteen.

Bull was born on July 12, 1973 in Temple, TX. He grew up in Lampasas and Gatesville attending school in both. At a young age he helped raise his two nieces, Krystal and Nikita and nephew, Rodney. Bull married Katreena McGehee on February 14, 1999 in Gatesville. The following year on January 11, 2000 his baby was born, Sarah Elizabeth Ayres, his pride and joy.  He was a truck driver, working for TTG Utilities for the past six years. Bull was a “Jack-of-All-Trades”, he could build anything with his hands. He loved spending time with family, collecting knives and being “The Pit Guy” for Simmerman Racing. Bull also enjoyed movies and having nerf gun battles with all the kiddos. Bull or Jeff as many knew him was the kind of person that if you needed help, he was there. Anyone that knew him knew he was always offering a helping hand when needed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy F. Ayres; mother-in-law, Renalda McGehee; nieces, Jessica McGehee, Gracelyn McGehee; brother-in-law, Conan Magilke; nephews, Donnie Rushing, and Samuel McGehee.

Bull is survived by his wife of 21 years, Katreena Ayres; daughter, Sarah Ayres and fiancé, Will Walker; sisters, Deb Corliss and husband, James, Melinda Safford, Tammy Simmerman and husband, Robert, and Angela Magilke; brother, Jesse Ayres and wife, Kara Clark; father-in-law, Richard McGehee and wife, Martha; brother-in-laws, Ricky McGehee and wife, Tina, Joey McGehee and wife, Marisa, Billy McGehee and wife, Bobbie, and Shane McGehee; numerous nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking donations be made to an account set up at the First National Bank in Jeffrey’s name or there is a Facebook Fundraiser set up as “Jeff Ayres Memorial” where donations can be made.
