Jeremy Hernandez, age 38 of Waco, passed away on the evening of August 25, 2021 in Waco surrounded by his family.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Charles McKamie officiating.
Jeremy was born on April 7, 1983 in Brush, CO to Richard Hernandez and Lisa Rose Holbeck. He grew up and attended school in Waco. Jeremy worked his magic as a bar connoisseur, always willing to lend his hand, heart and ear to whomever needed him. He enjoyed spending time near open water, casting his reel whenever he had the opportunity. Jeremy loved to show off his cooking skills. He was always looking for the perfect cut of meat to grill up for his steak dates with his bestie Destiny. If Jeremy was off the grid, that usually meant he was snuggled up with Netflix and his spoiled, well-loved pooch Goosebomb Jameson. Jeremy poured his heart into his friends and family. If you were lucky enough to know him, you had the opportunity to see how his smile would light a room, how his laugh would make you laugh, and how his love would warm your heart.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ernest Holbeck and great-grandparents, Frank and Margaret Jiter.
Jeremy is survived by his parents, Lisa Holbeck and Richard Hernandez; siblings, Lorelei Nelson, Chelsea Blanchard, Anabelle Hernandez, Yardley, Belen, Little Jeremy and Mario Palacios; grandparents, Karlyn Holbeck, Netta Hernandez, and his four children, Heaven, Wyatt, Emma and Lily.
“The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. Many men go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.”
Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men. Matthew 4:19
