Jerry M. Locke

Jerry Merle Locke, age 79, of Gatesville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, surrounded by family.  Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2018 at Scotts Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.  Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.  Jerry will be laid to rest by her beloved husband of 53 years, Milburn Lee Locke.                          Jerry was born on February 26, 1939 in Waco, Texas to Herbert Clark and Opal Pruitt Clark.  Jerry was a current resident of the Eula P. White Welcome Program at Coryell Memorial Healthcare System.  She moved there in 2011, shortly after the death of her husband.  Jerry attended Bible Study, Resident Council meetings, and other social activities.  She also played the piano in the lobby on several occasions.  Jerry retired in 1999 from the Texas Workforce Commission as a case manager.  After Jerry and Milburn retired, they moved from Austin to their Ranch Property in Purmela and built a home.  They were members of Live Oak Baptist Church and both very active in the community.  Jerry volunteered at the Church, Coryell County Museum, and the Coryell Memorial Hospital.  She was a past adjutant of the DAV Chapter 74 Auxiliary, past member of the Morris Federation, and the Red Hat Ladies Club of Gatesville.  Jerry loved to go back to her Ranch home, sit on the porch with a glass of tea and visit with friends and family.She was preceded in death by her parents; Herbert and Opal Clark; husband, Milburn Locke; brother, Clifford Clark; and sister, June.Jerry is survived by her three sons, Bruce Locke of Austin,  Larry Locke and wife, Debbie of Evant, and Kevin Locke and wife, Melanie of Purmela; grandson,  Brandon Gage Locke and wife Sarah; granddaughter, Kamryn Lee Locke of Purmela; and great-grandchildren, Jayden and Joel Locke of Austin.Memorials may be made to Coryell Memorial Foundation/Eula P.
