Jerry Wayne Stanford

Jerry Stanford, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, in Temple, Texas, at the age of 80 with his loving wife, Brenda of 51 years by his side. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3 at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Jerry was born on May 8, 1944, in Amory, Mississippi, to the late George and Norma (Nomie) Lee Suggs. He is preceded in death by his sisters Nell Rinehart and Shelby Jean Rinehart.

Jerry married his devoted and loving wife Brenda of 51 years, June 21, 1973. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Crystal Conklin, Theresa Stanford, and Barbara Stanford. Jerry was a dedicated father, always putting his family first and providing them with love, support, and guidance throughout their lives.

Jerry served in the Army for 13 years and after his service he worked as an armed security guard. In his free time, Jerry had a passion for roaming the countryside, playing darts, listening to Gospel, and visiting his children. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family the most. He was a pillar of strength and will forever leave his legacy.

Jerry will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of wittiness, humor, compassion, and generosity that will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his wife Brenda Stanford of Gatesville; daughters, Crystal Conklin of Gatesville, Theresa Stanford of Waco, and Barbara Stanford of Waco; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and sister Brenda Adams.

In loving memory, the family requests that donations be made to Amedisys Hospice Care in Temple, Texas and Our Hospice House in Belton, Texas. The family would like to give a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice Care and Our Hospice House for the excellent and compassionate care they provided Jerry and family while he was with them.
