Jimmie Allen Nichols, age 79 of the Turnersville Community, passed away on February 18, 2019. A private family service was held on February 19, 2019. Jimmie was born on September 24, 1939 in Gatesville, TX to the late O. Dean Nichols and Alice McMinn Nichols. He grew up in Turnersville and graduated from Turnersville High School in 1957. While in High School Jimmie was one of 25 players selected to the All Central Texas Football team in 1956, he exceled in all sports that he played. He was baptized at Hurst Springs. Jimmie served in the U.S. Army for three years before being honorably discharged. He worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad, and retired from there before moving back to the Turnersville Community. Jimmie lived life to the fullest, always with a grin on his face. He was preceded in death by parents; brother Wiley Dean Nichols; nephew, Davy Zell Nichols; and great-nephew, Bucky Nichols. Jimmie is survived by his son, Joe Skinner; daughter Robyn DePalma; grandchildren, Terri Bowden, Monica and Samantha Skinner; niece, Alice Tippit and husband Dale; nephews, Wiley Nichols and wife Sherry, and Steve Nichols; and special cousin and care giver for over 10 years, Edwin Nichols.
