Joe S. Garcia

Joe S. Garcia, age 82, of Gatesville, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019 in Waco, Texas surrounded by his family.  Services are scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Joe was born, April 22, 1937 in Evant, Texas to Floyd Garcia Sr. and Celia Salazar Garcia.  Joe worked for Kalyn and the City of Gatesville retiring in 2002.  He was one of the best sheep shearers in Coryell County and surrounding counties.  Above all Joe loved his family. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Emma Lopez, Maggie Garcia, Rosa Leyva, Floyd Garcia, Jr., Mary Avila and Albert Garcia. He is survived by his children, JoAnn Smith and husband Les, Jose Garcia and wife Ellen, Betty Myers and husband Robert and Mary Colson and  husband Frank; Grandchildren, Chris Garcia, Amelia Flaten, Tiffany Sanders, Amber Colson, Katy Rodriguez, Heather Faulkner, Josee Myers, Jaylea Smith and Austin Smith; Great-Grandchildren, Jacob Sanders, Bella Johncox, Emilee Sanders, Wyatt Sanders, Carlee Garcia, Riley Faulkner and Rose Faulkner; sister, Pauline Salazar.
