Joe Bob Rueter

Joe Bob Rueter, age 83, of Gatesville passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, August 12, 2019 at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville. Visitation will be from 9-10 on Monday before the service at Scott’s Funeral Home.

Joe Bob was born on October 8, 1935 in the Coryell City community in Coryell County to the late Edwin and Iris Britian Rueter. He attended school in the Plainview Community before graduating from Gatesville in 1954. He owned Sinclair Service Station at the “Y” in Gatesville before going in the contracting business. He operated Rueter Construction until he was 81 years old. Joe Bob had a passion for farming, ranching and especially his grandchildren. On June 9, 1987 he married Frances Ashby in McGregor. Joe Bob had a sense of humor, a strong work ethic and loved his animals.

Joe Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jed Rueter and his sister-in-law, Deborah Rueter.

Joe Bob is survived by his wife, Frances Rueter; children, Dale Rueter and wife, Pam, Beverly Pena and husband, Ricky, Kay McCracken and husband, Bill, Lee Russell; sister, Nell Addkison and husband, Tom; brother, Mark Rueter; 11 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the all abilities playground project at Coryell Community Church,   115 Levita Road, Gatesville, TX 76528.
