John Franklin Spivey III

John Spivey III, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at his home. 

Memorial Services will be scheduled by John's family at a later date

John Franklin Spivey III was born October 9, 1944 to the late John Franklin Spivey II and Dorothy Marie Vogt.  During his younger years, he spent time living in both Florida and Maryland.  After high school, John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Chulai Province of Vietnam.  He was later discharged from the Marines, receiving an honorable discharge for his service.  John then began working as the manager of a prominent restaurant in the Washington D.C. area before being transferred to Texas.  He also spent time as a car salesman before retiring in 2009. 

John enjoyed photography and was often found taking pictures at various local civic events.  He was an avid karaoke enthusiast and enjoyed attending and watching rodeo events.  He was also a devoted Christian.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

John is survived by daughters, Ashley Spivey and husband, Christopher Freeman; Caitlynn Brock and husband, Jake; Jacquline McKanna and husband, Kyle; and Rebecca Spivey; and grandchildren, Hazel and Oliver Freeman, and Scarlett and Mattis Brock.
