Jimmie Espinoza Ortega

Jimmie Espinoza Ortega, age 90 of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gatesville.  Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors from 5 to 6, Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the funeral home.     Jimmie was born February 19, 1928 in Gatesville, Texas to the late Jim Ortega and Virginia Espinoza Ortega.  Jimmie E. Ortega was a lifelong resident of Gatesville. He was married to Lila G. Ortega who preceded him in death in 2009. Mr. Ortega was a retired self employed television repairman. He supported six rowdy children, Dolores Ortega Carter, Diana Bigley and husband David, Jimmy Aubrey and wife Tammy, Ralph Dean and wife Karel, Patrick and wife Janet, and John Carl. He is survived by 37 absolutely perfect grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild. Mr. Ortega is also survived by his brothers, Mingo, Tony, Jesse and sister, Virginia.   He is preceded in death by his beloved grandchild, Bruce Alan Ashley and his beloved puppy, Cee Cee. Several of his brothers and sisters also preceded him to his heavenly home.   The family of Mr. Ortega would like to thank the beautiful friends at Ranchers, El Tapatio, and his neighbors who provided him with friendship and food. Also, the family is eternally grateful to the Baylor Scott and White doctors and nurses and to their Hospice provider for the excellent care that was given to our father. May God continue to bless their very important charismatic work.
