Johnny was born on June 24, 1949 in Edinburg, Texas to J. B. and Ethylene Bomer Marsh. He grew up in Brownfield and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1967. Many of those he grew up with remain some of his dearest friends. He met his best friend, Candi, when he opened the door for her at the band hall. Their first date was for her 16th birthday and he soon asked for her hand in marriage. They were married on April 12, 1968. Their union of 50 years was admired by all who crossed their paths, and was exemplified on his final day on earth as he clasped her hand in both of his during his last worship service with his church family. He was her Superman and she was his everything. He attended Howard Junior College and Texas Tech University pursuing a criminal justice degree. After a short career in law enforcement both with the FBI and as a police officer in Snyder, he began a career in auto sales in 1973, which he loved and continued until his last day on earth! Johnny endeavored to leave everything better than he found it. He wanted the best for all he met, and was known as being a mentor, coach, counselor, and father figure to all. His life spoke more than his words as to his love for the Lord. He dearly loved his church family, Coryell Community Church, and had many opportunities to lead others to Christ and to church membership as a result of his larger than life personality. The outpouring of love shown by his community shows that he was so much more than words can say to so many.He was preceded in death by his father, J. B.
