Joy Lattimer

Joy Lattimer, age 70 of Purmela, passed away on the morning of July 5, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 9, 2021 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.

Joy was born on August 28, 1950 in Gatesville to the late Harland “Bob” and Janie Harrington. She grew up and attended school in Gatesville.  Joy worked as a budget analyst on Ft. Hood for over 20 years before she retired. After retiring from Ft. Hood, she went to work with her husband, Larry as owner operators of Lattimer Trucking. This was a bond that worked well together for 30 plus years. Family was a big part of Joy’s life that brought her very much joy. She loved being able to pick her grandkids up from school and hear about their day. Joy was an avid reader and lover of books. Though the number is not known, she would read numerous books a week. Joy could be found working around the house in her flower garden and taking care of her cats and dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Janie; in-laws, Elmer and Juanita Snow; sisters, Linda Pelfrey and Donna Earle; brother, John Harrington; nephews, Danny Pelfrey and Jeremy Anderson; niece, Kim Harrington; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Wilson.

Joy is survived by her husband, Larry Snow; sisters, Bobbie Henager and husband, Vernon and Lynn Wilson; grandchildren, Zayla and Zarah Wisehart, Aiden and Koraline Aguilar; niece, Neta Wisehart and husband, Russell; nephews, Dalton Aguilar and wife, Jyssika and Ty Aguilar; numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club 2533 E. Main Street, Gatesville, TX 76528, in memory of Joy.
