It is with great sadness that the family of Julia Pearl Drewry announces her passing. Julia was greeted in heaven by her husband Lonnie Drewry, her daughter Robin Easterling, and her son Randy Drewry, her parents and siblings, as well as her beloved dog Boogie who we all know was super excited to see her
Julia Pearl Drewry, 93, passed away on September 5, 2020 in Gatesville, Tx. Julia lived an amazing life full of love and happiness.
Celebration of life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Scott's Funeral Home in Gatesville, Texas followed by burial at 2:00 p.m. at Union Cemetery in Gustine, Texas.
Julia was born on July 17, 1927 to Issac and Mary Toney in Carnegie Oklahoma. Julia was one of five children. Throughout her entire life, Julia held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Julia was a Baptist.
Julia married Lonnie Drewry on November 22, 1945. They had a loving marriage of 58 years, until his passing in 2003. They had four children that they loved and were very proud of.
Julia believed in working hard and taking care of her family. Her work ethic and family values were instilled in her children and grandchildren. Julia worked in retail for many years. She was also the owner of the Priddy General Store for several years.
Julia was the center of her family and was full of life. She enjoyed doing anything and everything with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Her family was the apple of her eye. Julia loved BIG. She loved anyone that her children loved and she became Mamaw to her grandchildren’s closest friends. She never missed a holiday, a birthday or any event that her grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved in. She traveled on countless trips over the years with her children and grandchildren. No matter where she went she had the best time.
Julia lived in Cleburne until she was diagnosed with dementia. At that point, she moved to Gatesville and resided in the Meadows until the time of her passing.
In her final few years she looked forward to her frequent visits from her family and the occasional visits from Nash and getting to spend time with him. She was blessed in her final days to meet her newest great-great granddaughters, Hadleigh and Julia, her name sake, and tell them that she loved them. She is loved to the moon and back.
Julia is survived by a son, Ron Drewry and wife, Joyce of Abilene; daughter, Rhonda Larsen of Cleburne; granddaughter, Tami Hoover and husband, John of Gatesville; grandsons, James Robardey and Jeremy Robardey of Stephenville; great grandchildren, John David Hoover Jr. and fiancé, Cheyenne West of Abilene, Justin Hoover of Gatesville, Jacqi Prado and husband, Daniel of Gatesville, Stefani Heimbuck and husband, Chris of Conroe; three great great grandchildren, Nash and Hadleigh Prado both of Gatesville and Julia Hoover of Abilene. As well as many extended family members and friends.
