Keith Cleon Johnson, Jr.

Keith Cleon Johnson, Jr. (K.C.) passed away peacefully on February 12, 2021, at Hillside Medical Lodge. He was born on February 13, 1944 to Keith Cleon Johnson, Sr. and Mary “Jane” Foulston Johnson, in Wichita, KS. He grew up in Stafford, KS and attended school in Zenith and Stafford, KS, graduating from Stafford High School in 1962. He attended Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS. He graduated from San Joaquin Valley College with a degree in Archaeology. He served his country in the US Army and was a proud member of the Airborne Division. He spent his career as a CPA working for such companies as Gannett Publishing (USA Today), Coors Brewing Company, and several major hospitals. He opened a retail gift store and dealt in the collectables secondary market in Arlington, VT. Through the years, he was married to Marge Buck Roberson, Lora Clark Starr, and Joyclyn Cleaver Johnson. In 2007, he moved to Gatesville, TX. He was an active member of Gatesville Lodge #197 AM&FM, Gatesville Chapter #1005 Order of the Eastern Star, and Coryell County Gun Club. He was owner and operator of LeatherbyMe. He frequently visited residents of Hillside Medical Lodge and patients at Temple Veterans Hospital, Temple, TX until his health prohibited. He was a championship competitive marksman. He was a member of Grace Presbytery-Presbyterian Church USA, attended First United Methodist Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Cover2Cover Ministries, all of Gatesville, TX, and created and conducted his own personal worship services. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older sister, Marilyn Clare Johnson. He is survived by three sons: Brad Roberson (Barb) of Colorado, Brett Roberson (Joanne) of Massachusetts, and Bryan Johnson of Oregon. Siblings: Robert Johnson (Ann), Carnes Crossroads, SC; Claire Grogan (Don), Gatesville, TX; David Johnson (Jeanie), Stafford, KS. Grandchildren: Heather Morales, Brian Roberson, Lindsey Roberson, and Gracey Johnson. Great Grandchildren: Aubrey Morales, MacKenzie Morales, and Claire Roberson. Nieces and Nephews: Trinity O’Leary, Amy Riordan, Tim Williams, Brian Henry, Matthew Henry, and Karen Henry Williams. Bonus Granddaughters: Amber and Audrey. He will be cremated and there will be no service at this time. His family will meet in Stafford, KS to spread his ashes and celebrate his life at a later date.
