Keith Logan Sugg, age 66, of Gatesville passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am, Friday, November 30, 2018 at Scott’s Funeral Home with a family burial following at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dilley, Texas. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Thursday. Keith was born to the late Robert and Mary Penn Sugg on May 3, 1952. He loved everything about his life growing up in Evant and all the people that lived there. Keith excelled in sports, especially football. Keith dearly loved his classmates from his Evant class of 1970. In 1976, he married Jo Ann Carroll in Hamilton, Texas. Keith attended Tarleton State University before beginning his work career with Texas Power and Light, the Gatesville State School for Boys and then took over his father’s broom and mop business. In 1983, he found his passion with Wal~Mart #476 in Gatesville. Keith loved his co-workers and customers whom he considered his family. He retired after 32 years from Wal~Mart. Keith’s favorite past time was coaching youth sports in Gatesville, especially the teams his sons were on. He also had a love of reading civil war history and was a 30 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Gatesville. In his retirement he loved his daily drives in the country, afternoon of westerns and his five o’clock Sun Valley neighborhood crew. Keith was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Verleen Sugg Weeks and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; two nephews; and several co-workers from Wal~Mart.  Keith is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Sugg; sons, Chip Sugg, Tyler Sugg and wife Amanda, two granddaughters, Lyla and Ruby Sugg; sister, Kathleen Edwards, and  husband, Boyce; brothers, Steve Sugg and wife, Carmen, Delbert Sugg, Stanley Sugg and wife, Pat; his beloved Evant classmates and friends; and a host of other extended family. Not a day went by without him bragging about his sons, his granddaughters or his wife. He will be loved and missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to City of Gatesville Youth Sports, 110 North 8th Street, Gatesville, TX or the charity of your choice.
