Kenneth Mauldin, age 87 formerly of Dell City, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
Kenneth Floyd Mauldin was born on March 26, 1936 in Sylvester, Texas to Guy and Lorene Mauldin. He graduated from Roby High School in 1954. On May 25, 1955, Kenneth married Beverly (Beeman) Mauldin. They were married 52 years until Beverly’s passing in 2007. Together they had 3 children, Karen, Kenny, and Kyle. Kenneth was a career rancher and a true cowboy. He was named in the top 10 Horse Trainers in the United States during the late 60’s and early 70’s. He has trained and sold Steer Roping Horses to numerous World Champion Rodeo Cowboys. He had a successful career in the rodeo setting as well by winning Rookie of The Year in the Seniors Steer Roping Association in 1986, followed by two National Finals Championships in 1989 and 1996, and was a finalist in 2000. Kenneth also won the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo in 2003.
Kenneth was a Husband, Brother, Daddy, Grandaddy, Uncle and many other titles to which he all carried with pride. He was a great teacher and mentor to many.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife Beverly; parents, Guy and Lorene; son, Kenny; Brothers, Terry and Truman; and son in law, Lewis McPherson.
Kenneth is survived by his brother, Alton Mauldin; daughter, Karen McPherson; son, Kyle Mauldin and wife Lisa; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his longtime companion, Mary Foster.
In lieu of flowers, Kenneth’s family requests memorials be made to a charity of your choosing.
