Kevin Cupps

Kevin Cupps, age 52 of Gatesville, rejoined his loved ones upon returning to his heavenly home on the evening of November 10, 2020 in Gatesville. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Mound Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Cox officiating. There will be a come and go visitation from 10:00 – 1:00 at Scott’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.

Kevin was born March 12, 1968 in Grapevine, TX to the late Johnny and Susan Probst Cupps. He grew up and attended school in Gatesville.  He enjoyed competing in sports in high school, was a gifted athlete and won multiple track meets. Kevin was a character.  He always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips; teasing people was his way of showing that he cared.  He was warm, funny, lighthearted, and loved people.  A natural storyteller, you couldn’t be around Kevin for long before his irreverent sense of humor had you bursting into laughter, even at his own expense.  Kevin loved flying, all aspects of nature and being outdoors, building projects, and he left things in better condition than he found them.  He didn’t take life too seriously, and was a bit of a rebel, living life by his own rules.  Kevin enjoyed the simple things: visiting with his family, coffee with a sunrise, classic rock, well-crafted wood and leather goods, antiques, caring for house plants, and he had an affinity for eating peanut butter with ice cream and maple syrup while watching the Dallas Cowboys play football.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Johnny and Susan Probst Cupps, and his sister,Sulynn Cupps Shoaf.

Kevin is survived by his daughters, Jesica Cupps Sims and her husband, Carl Lee Sims; Abigail Marie Cupps and Emily Rose Cupps; son, Cullin Blain Cupps; brother, Jeff Cupps; grandchildren, Payton Riley Dubay, Hally Ray Dubay, Carl Lee Sims, Jr., and Briley Ann Sims; and his nieces and nephews.
