We are heartbroken to share that Kimberly Michelle Davis Rudolph lost her difficult battle against cancer on December 20, 2024. She handled that nearly 2-year long journey with incredible grace and positivity and was surrounded by family as she reached her sunset.
Born on June 10th, 1979, in Temple, TX, Kimberly lived a life full of genuine love, laughter, creativity and kindness. She lived her entire life in Central Texas, and was passionate about her family, her horses, trail rides, photography and going fishing. She led a life of service to others as evidenced by many years of her dedicated work in healthcare as a CMA, and subsequently as a Corrections Officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Kimberly loved her Fredericksburg girls’ trips, decorating her gate with a wreath to match the season, taking beautiful pictures of sunsets and old windmills, and spending time down by the creek on her property.
To her loved ones, Kimberly was known as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and humble, down-to-earth woman with a big heart.
Kimberly is survived by her mother Deborah Lynne Davis, father Thomas Edward Davis, mother-in-law Tamea Rudolph, father-in-law Max Rudolph, husband Brandon Rudolph, brother Neil Davis and wife Candace, sister Melissa Davis Johnson and husband Adam, brother Thomas Davis and wife Karla, sister Jessi Sellers and husband Chad, sister-in-law Lindsay James and husband Bodie, daughters Emma-Lynne Reagan Davis, Juli Rudolph and Elyssa Rudolph, and granddaughter Isabella “Izzy” Shuemake.
Kimberly was preceded in death by grandparents Paul and Lucrete Cavender, grandparents Bill and Effie Whitehead, grandparents Allen and Mary Davis, and biological father Jim Whitehead.
We’ll always remember Kimberly’s selflessness, her contagious smile that lit up a room, her unique way of telling funny stories, her protective love for her family, her boisterous laugh that made everyone else laugh along with her, and of course her sweet tea made with so much sugar that you could almost chew it instead of drink it.
A gathering to celebrate Kimberly’s life will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville between the hours of 6:00pm-8:00pm. A graveside service at King Cemetery will follow on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 1:00pm. All are welcome to send flowers and/or make a charitable donation in Kimberly’s honor to The EQUUS Foundation, 168 Long Lots Road, Westport, CT. 06880 or to Leukemia Texas, 3000 Pegasus Park Drive, Ste. 710, Dallas, TX. 75247.
Like a stunning Texas sunset, Kimberly was truly one of a kind. Life won’t be the same without her. We’ll carry her love and laughter with us always.
