Lila Mae Graham

Lila Mae Graham, age 96, of Gatesville, Texas passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, surrounded by her grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Scott’s Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Osage Cemetery. 

Lila was born on Aug 16, 1927, to Robert and Alma Etchison of Osage, Texas. She married Chester Lee Graham in 1947 in Big Spring, Texas. She had a passion for travel and enjoyed visiting and living in different countries with Chester. She was happiest when in the company of family and friends and enjoyed cooking for the entire family. 

Lila dedicated her life to helping and caring for people. It was through this strong desire to help others that she decided to pursue a career in nursing as an LVN. She was very active and loved sports, especially playing basketball when she was younger. Other passions of hers included: reading books, listening to music, and dancing. Lila was truly such a kind and fun-loving woman who lit up the room with her smile and laughter any chance she could. 

Lila was a strong Christian. She loved worshipping the Lord, reading her Bible, and was a devout member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Lee Graham, her two children, Randy Joe Graham and Jimmy Lee Graham, and her nine siblings. 

Lila is survived by her grandchildren, Colby Graham and his wife Lisa, and Craig Graham and his wife Adriana. She cared deeply for her 6 great-grandchildren, Lyla, Laney, Isaac, Nicholas, Anthony, and Shelton, and two Great-Great Grandchildren, Luna and Levi. 

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Lila's funny, nurturing, and caring spirit will live in our hearts forever.
