Lily Cude Clymer, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Turnersville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 before the service at the Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville. Lily, known as Aunt Tootsie to her family, was born on March 8, 1922 in Turnersville, Texas to the late Marion and Maude Kennedy Cude. She graduated from Turnersville High School in 1940 where she was a member of the basketball team. After high school, she modeled in Nashville before returning back to Texas. In 1957, she started her career at Rowan Companies. She was the receptionist for Rowan until her retirement in 1987. After retirement, she moved back to her hometown of Turnersville where she lived on her own up until the past few months. Lily loved her place in Turnersville and enjoyed working in her yard and taking care of her cats. Lily was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; five sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Lily is survived by her nephew, Edgar Pierce of Turnersville; great nieces, Kathy Walters and Lily Fanning and their families; along with other nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lutheran Sunset Ministries, 413 Sunset Ave, Clifton, TX 76634 whom loved and cared for Lily in her last months.
