Lois Marie Hemphill

Lois Marie Sparks Hemphill, age 93, of Turnersville, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Gatesville.  Services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Hemmeline Cemetery. Lois Marie Sparks Hemphill, was born in Robert Lee, Texas on July 18, 1925, to Bronc and Ethel Walker Sparks.  She married Murvil Hemphill on January 7, 1945 in Gatesville, Texas.  They were married 71 years before his death in 2016.  She was a homemaker and preacher’s wife.  Lois loved all kinds of animals especially cats and dogs.  She loved quilting and working outside in the garden.  Lois was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, where Murvil was the assistant pastors. She was preceded in death by parents, Bronc and Ethel; twin brother, Lowell; and brothers Howard and Wilford; and three sisters; two brothers-in-law, Estil Hemphill and Wayne Hemphill; one-son-in-law, Mark Robertson. Lois is survived by son, Carroll Hemphill and wife Linda; daughter, Sandy Robertson; sister, Olene Hemphill; five grandchildren, 10  Great Grandchildren and 14 Great-Great Grandchildren. The family would like to thank Jennifer Clawson, Heart of Texas Hospice, the staff of Hillside Medical Lodge and A.
