Lorene Alvarado Saenz

Lorene Alvarado Saenz, age 73 of Gatesville, passed away on March 28, 2019 in Temple, TX.  Services will be 4:00 p.m., Friday April 5, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Lorene was born on November 28, 1945 in Lampasas, TX to Joe Alvarado Sr. and Janie Valencia.  She grew up in the Central Texas area.  She married Rafael Saenz on March 2, 1968 in Gatesville.  They moved to West Texas where Lorene worked as a seamstress.  In 2000 she moved back to Gatesville where she started her career in Home Health.  Lorene worked at several nursing homes including The Meadows during her 30 plus years of service in Home Health and nursing home care.  She enjoyed family, spending time with her grandkids, antique shopping and planting her flowers.  She was a member of Iglsia Hispana De Gatesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe Alvarado Jr.; and son, Joey Saenz. Lorene is survived by her husband of 51 years, Rafael Saenz; daughter, Angie Saenz of Austin; grandchildren, Kaci Jenkins and Kayli Negrette of Austin; sisters, Maria Smith of Jonesboro, Consualo Esparza, and Linda Zaragoza of Valley Mills; and numerous nieces and nephews.
