Marcia Watson

Marcia Watson, age 76, of Jonesboro passed away on Friday, Feb. 7, 2020 in Killeen.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb 11, 2020 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Rev. John Crosby officiating.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Marcia known as “Sister” was born on Sept. 11, 1943 in Moody, to the late Allan and Annie Lou Duncan Denny.  She grew up in Gatesville and went to school in Gatesville and Turnersville.  She married Edd Watson on Jan.14, 1961.  They resided in Killeen most of their married lives, moving to Jonesboro in 1990.  She worked for TDCJ at the Hilltop and Hughes Unit, Central Texas College and Texas Dept. of Health and Human Services in Gatesville. She enjoyed quilting and playing slot machines.

She was also preceded in death by her husband in 2004; and a brother, Sam Denny.

She is survived by a daughter, Joy Salcido; son, David Watson and wife, Kim; sister, Joy Sommerfeld;  six grandchildren, Megan Watson, Nikki Goleman, Ben Miller, Allan Watson, Laney Salcido, Daphne Salcido; and five great grandsons.
