Margaret Kiphen

Margaret Kiphen, age 82, of Gatesville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of September 24, 2019, surrounded by family.  Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Hemmeline Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2019, at Scott’s Funeral Home.

Margaret was born a triplet on May 18, 1937, in Breckenridge, Texas, to the late J.S. (Sid) Rhodes and Dixie Belle McFall. She grew up and attended school in Breckenridge. After graduation Margaret attended Business College. After college she married Alvin F. Kiphen on May 2, 1959, in Breckenridge. Margaret was a longtime employee of Walls Manufacturing.  She enjoyed her time as a Crossing Guard for Meridian ISD children, which she enjoyed for several years. Margaret spent a lifetime enjoying her children. While they were young, she took her children fishing and swimming at the lake, and played baseball with them in the yard. A few precious memories of Margaret were her taking the children to all their sporting events and cheering them on. Margaret also enjoyed attending church and fellowship with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Betty Ruth, Sidney Louise, Tollie Ann, and her triplet sisters, Dixie Morie and Linda Merle; and son, Alvin F. (Vin) Kiphen, Jr.

Margaret is survived by her children, Becky Hitt, and Sid Kiphen and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Justin Hitt and wife, Christa, Kasey Kiphen, Honey Bays and husband, Denny of Axtell, and Heather Sigler of Waco; great-grandchildren, Harper and Sydnee Hitt, Brayden and Presley Bays; and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly and her devoted friend Olin Jorgenson.
