Mark Scott McCartney

Mark Scott McCartney, age 51, went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 25, 2024 following a tragic vehicle accident. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7

A Celebration of Life/Remembrance Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Summit Worship Center in Austin, Texas.  

Mark was born October 21, 1972 to Mark and Deborah McCartney in Sharon, Pennsylvania. He attended Leander High School and was most recently employed by Winnelson Plumbing Supply of Temple, Texas. Mark enjoyed being outdoors; fishing; working with his hands; and fellowship with church family, family, and friends. His great love and joy was his relationship with the Lord, and he devoted his time and heart to study, worship, ministry, and service to others and the church.

Mark is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Deborah Sue Young McCartney; grandparents, Scott and Marie Young, and Clyde and Florence McCartney (all of Pennsylvania); and aunts, Linda Whitestine and Terry Young.

Mark is survived by his loving family: daughter, Abigail “Abbey” Haefner of Round Rock, Texas; father, Mark M. McCartney of Georgetown, Texas; brother, Miles McCartney; sister, Andrea McCartney; as well as by his aunt, Donna McCartney; uncles, Clyde McCartney, Richard McCartney and Russell Young; nieces, Faith Brianna Junker, Madison Felter McCartney Plemons, Bailey Felter McCartney Plemons, and Trinity McCartney; and nephews, Morgan Niblick McCartney and Jonah Tyler Junker. He also leaves behind numerous cherished members of his church family and friends.

Mark is greatly missed and will be fondly remembered. In lieu of flowers, Mark's family requests memorials be made to Summit Worship Center, 10401 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, Texas 78750, or to The Olive Branch Christian Fellowship, P.O. Box 5690, Waco, Texas 76708.
