Marta Haney

Marta Haney, age 66 of Gatesville, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Grace Assembly Church, 1408 Waco Street, in Gatesville, with Rev. Wray Nunn officiating.

Marta Elena Haney was born on February 5, 1956, in Huntington Park, California, to the late William E. and Dora Sauceda Haney.  She grew up in Palos Verdes, California and graduated from Palos Verdes High School.  She attended San Diego State University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta and majoring in journalism.  She worked for Xerox corporation as an executive administrative assistant.  She was an avid reader, excellent writer, dancer and was funny and quick witted.  She was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Palos Verdes Players.  She also played the part of “Mrs. Agnew” with Sir Anthony Hopkins in the film “Nixon.”

Marta loved to serve The Lord, Yeshua, Jesus going on mission trips and visiting orphanages in Baja, Mexico.  She was involved in Christian outreaches in Venice Beach, California and west Texas and supported foreign missions, prolife prayer vigils and was on many other prayer teams.

Marta is survived by a sister, Letty Haney of Gatesville; cousins, Kathy Haney Todd of Houston, Laura Wilder of Clear Lake, Antonio James Haney of Spring, Mary Malloy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Roland Haney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lydia Schbert of Corpus Christi and Carlos Haney of Corpus Christi.
