Mary Rose Johansen

Mary Rose Johansen, age 86 of Plano, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 in Gatesville.

Memorial services are pending in Plano as of this date.

Mary was born on September 27, 1934 in Yankton, South Dakota to the late Casper and Rose Wample Wuestewald.  She was a single mother to three children and registered nurse for twenty years, serving ten years as a hospice nurse for Blue Cross & Blue Shield.  She was a breast cancer survivor and devoted Catholic.  She was a die-hard democrat and Texas Ranger fan.  She was an avid quilter and hand crafted beautiful quilts.  She has resided in Plano, until moving to Gatesville the last few months in her daughter’s care.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Dale Johansen.

Mary is survived by her son, Danny Johansen and wife, Becky; daughter, Debbie Mooney and husband, Audie; daughter-in-law, Sally Johansen; brothers, Harry Wuestewald, Larry Wuestewald; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
