Mary E. Mensch

Mary Mensch, age 83 of Gatesville, passed away on August 25, 2019.  A Memorial graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Gatesville City Cemetery.

Mary was born on April 12, 1936 in Arkansas to the late Lee and Mary Thompson. She grew up in Arkansas and Illinois. She moved to Texas in 1963 where she met her husband Otha “Monk” Mensch.  Mary worked at Walls as a seamstress for 15 plus years where she built many long lasting friendships.  After retirement she would clean houses to pass the time.  She enjoyed spending time with family and cooking meals for everyone to enjoy. Mary loved her two dogs, “Coco” and “Spot”.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Jamie Helm; son, Irvin Mensch sister, Geneva; brothers, Bob, Sid, and Jim.

Mary is survived by two daughters, Connie Henkey and husband Ron of IL, and Theresa Mantz of IL; son, Tom Wilson of IL; stepdaughter Charlene Shaver of Katy, TX; brother, David Thompson and wife Karen of CO; grandchildren, Courtney Gibson and husband Philip, Jackie Morgan and husband Billy, Angela Tragesser of Katy, TX, Robbie Soncasie and wife Jen of IL, Kristina Pelizzaro and husband Scott of IL, Rachel Shaw and husband Travis of IL, Dawn Mantz of IL, Michael Wilson of IL, and Jason Wilson and wife Julie of IL; great-grandchildren, Cory, Elexsus, Carly, Lizzy, Jason, Josie and Jeanette, and Averie, Megan and Kyle of IL; and many extended family and friends.
