Mary Thomas

Mary Thomas, age 78 of Gatesville, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mary Elizabeth (Nanny) Thomas was born on February 25, 1945 in Colorado City, Texas to the late Ross and Ora Brashears Hill. She grew up and went to school in Big Spring, Texas. She married Bob Thomas on February 14, 1985. They resided in San Angelo until his death in 2019. She later moved to Gatesville in 2020.

Nanny spent her last few years “bossing” others around at Hillside Medical Lodge and The Meadows. She enjoyed having her grandchildren and great grandchildren around so she could spoil them. Nanny enjoyed playing Bingo in her earlier years as well going to Ruidoso to play slots.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shawntina Thorpe; and eight brothers and sisters.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Tonya Bosier; sisters, Bea Quinlan and Marie Hill; brother, William Hill; special sister-in-law, Winnie Hill; grandchildren, Elizabeth Grado, Skeeter Raines and wife, Jennifer, Autumn Munoz, Shawn Munoz and Christopher Munoz, Tricia Hogan and husband, David; great grandchildren, Candy Grado, Zachery Raines, Deaglan Raines, Liam Raines, Fiona Raines, Hunter Ryan and Gabriel Raines.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Bluebonnet Hospice, The Meadows nursing staff and Dr. Matli for all their help in taking care of Nanny in her final days.
