Mary Anne Williams, age 78 of Gatesville, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 in Waco.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church in Coryell City, with Pastor Christopher Richmann officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 20th at Scott’s Funeral Home.
Mary Anne was born on July 1, 1944 in Oswego, New York to the late Clarence Smith and Hertha Weiss Smith. She grew up in McGregor and graduated from McGregor High School in 1962. She married John Macdonald in 1964 and later married Roy Wayne Williams in 1972. She worked at the Gatesville State School for Boys and then for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, retiring after over 30 years of service. She was a dedicated member of St. John Lutheran Church, serving as treasurer and bereavement coordinator for many years. Mary Anne was known as being feisty, mischievous and sassy and loved life. Mary Anne had a true heart and was fiercely devoted to her family and friends. She loved being “Mimi” to her four grandchildren. Her spare time was spent reading, gardening and faithful fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wayne Williams in 2005.
Mary Anne is survived by her children, Kaycie LeJune and husband, Greg; John Macdonald and wife, Lana, Barron Williams and wife, Emily; brother, David Smith and wife, Barby; and her four loving grandchildren, Kellsy Macdonald, Kris Macdonald, Jack Williams and Michael LeJune. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 10801 FM 929, Gatesville, TX 76528 or the Gatesville Care Center, 105 N. 7th Street, Gatesville, TX 76528.
