Nancy Carolyn Veach

Nancy Veach, age 76 of Gatesville, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Scott’s Funeral Home with Minister Deral McWhorter officiating.  Nancy’s family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  

Nancy Carolyn Veach was born July 8, 1947, to the late Dennis (Red) Altum and Ruthie Lee Ingram Altum.  She grew up in Flat, Texas, the youngest of four children. She married the love of her life, Ray Veach on February 15, 1963, lasting 60 years...Bless her heart.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Nancy enjoyed fishing and camping with her family. She also loved painting and playing bingo. She spent her younger years raising three hardheaded children. Later in life, she worked for Graves Florist, creating flower arrangements. She was an avid shopper, and always took great pride in how she dressed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Doyle Altum and sisters, Ocie Evetts and Nell Shelton.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Ray; sons, Tim Veach and wife, Denise, and Kevin Veach; daughter, Melissa Lewis and husband, Carlos, all of Gatesville; grandchildren, Kiley Haley and husband, Kenny of Stephenville, Kara Kouns and husband, Kenneth, Seth Snyder and wife, Teryn, Shay Snyder and Megan Clary, and Tristen Tidrick, all of Gatesville, Destinee Vann and husband, Andrew of Abilene; and great-grandchildren, Boston, Kenna, Hallie, Kipton, Haizley, Kyson, Kayson, Addie and Jace; along with many nieces and nephews, whom she loved like her own.
