Neely Adair

Neely Adair, age 78, of Gatesville, passed away Sunday May 19, 2019 at his residence. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Neely was born June 26, 1940 in Rotan, Texas to Ira Alford Adair and Mary Neely Adair. He attended school in Jonesboro, graduating from Jonesboro High School in 1959.  He married Sandra Baize on September 2, 1961 on South Mountain.  They lived in Gatesville most of their married life.  He worked as an IBEW Union electrician out of Local 520 all his adult life.  Neely loved roping, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Adair and sister, Shirley McCorkle.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sandra Adair; daughter, Dyanna Chrisman and husband, Pat; sons, Will Adair and wife, Patches and Kelly Adair and wife, Robin; sister, Gaenelle Holden and husband, Garlan; brother-in-law, Gene McCorkle; grandchildren, Marley Adair, Slade Adair, Neely Duckett and husband, Josh, Zae Paskett, Brayden Adair, Bailey Adair; great-grandchildren, Paigeryn Ayers, Braylynn Fritze, Jolee Adair, Drayston Salinas and numerous nieces and nephews.
