Nelda Hooker

Nelda Hooker age 71 of Gatesville, passed away from this life on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2023, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Wray Nunn officiating.  The family will receive visitors following services at the funeral home.  For those unable to attend, Mrs. Hooker's services will be livestreamed at the link below her obituary.

Nelda Darlene Hooker was born on August 22, 1951, in Kemp, Texas, to the late Ivan and Eula Mae Drake Hooker.  She grew up in Ingram and later moved to the Gatesville area, where she lived most of her life.  She worked in the food service industry and had been employed at various local restaurants.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Timothy Peoples; brother, David Hooker; and sister, Mamie Beatrice Hooker.

Nelda is survived by daughters, Malissa Hill and husband, Roger of Jonesboro, LaRhonda Fernandez of Gatesville; son, Larry Vest and wife, Amy of Gatesville; sister, Stella Hooker of Gatesville; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
